I like trying different coffee roasts. I always buy whole bean and tend to prefer central american roasts. When it comes to coffee, I’m also very picky. I recently decided to give the Ethical Bean Lush Roast a try. I picked up a alb bag at Costco for approximately $15. Ethical Bean classifies this bean as a ‘Medium Dark Roast’.
I tend to like a darker coffee while my wife prefers a lighter roast. Over the year, we’ve compromised by both learner to enjoy a medium roast, so this roast met that requirement.
At first sip the Ethical Bean was pretty good. It wasn’t spectacular, but it was passable. My wife shared my opinion, and we resolved to continue to drink it. We decided that we would either grow to enjoy it, or the opposite. At $15 a bag, it was cheaper than our regular blend, so it was worth giving it a real try. By halfway through the bag we both knew we wouldn't be buying it again. Now the very last of the Ethical Bean is still sitting in our pantry, and we returned to the Tribal Blend we typically drink.
That’s not to say that the Ethical Bean Lush Roast is a bad coffee, it just did;t meet our taste requirements.
